OARS Community Transitions are delighted that the Premier had called a Royal Commission into domestic, family and sexual violence (DFSV) in South Australia.

“A complete review of existing policy and services is critical,” said CEO Leigh Garett

We’re very pleased that the Royal Commission will review the needs around education of men, programmes to changing men’s actions, and systems and services that prevent violence and lethal domestic violence through early.

We must sustain support for women, but it is the men creating the harm who must be both held accountable and given appropriate treatment and intervention.

It is anticipated that the Terms of Reference and Commissioner will be announced in Mid-February 2024, and the Royal Commission will be undertaken within a 12-month period.
